A part of this “Corporate Conservation Project” site is environmental corridor lands (wetlands, floodplain, preserved natural areas). The building pad, drives, parking and stormwater detention basins were designed to be clear of these environmentally sensitive areas.
1995-1997 – This 50 Acre corporate site is part of the 186 Acre Silver Spring Corporate Park . By developing this site, Kohls Corporate was consolidating their scattered facilities into one site that could accommodate their growth for the next 15 to 20 years.
A part of the stormwater detention facilities for this site were constructed on the East side of the Silver Spring Corporate Park project. The design of the Kohls site included: surface parking of about 3,000 parking spaces; a building pad site beyond phase I that could triple to quadruple the building floor areas; stormwater detention and water quality facilities; sanitary sewers; storm sewer; watermain; all designs to accommodate all phases of the project.
2000 – Phase Two – The building area was more than doubled; additional parking areas were added including storm sewers.
2005-2006 – The third phase of Kohls Corporate Center is underway and will continue to accomplish the initial design objectives. |
